Work at the Vienna talks on restoring the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran's nuclear program is progressing, Mikhail Ulyanov, head of the Russian delegation to the talks and Russia's Permanent Representative to international organizations in Vienna, said on Friday.
"Another very productive meeting with US Special Envoy for Iran Robert Malley was held. We are definitely making progress in the Vienna talks on restoring the JCPOA," Ulyanov wrote on Twitter. Earlier he reported that the negotiations had entered the final straight.
The eighth round of talks is underway in Vienna to restore the JCPOA to its original form and return the US to the multilateral agreement. The work is taking place in the format of the participants of the Joint Commission of Iran and the "Five" (Russia, Britain, Germany, China and France), their separate consultations with the US without the Islamic republic's participation, as well as three working groups. The negotiators are working on a draft final agreement. It is expected that the eighth round could be the last and will end this month.
