Russia's Prosecutor General Alexander Gutsan has arrived in Tajikistan to participate in the 35th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General from CIS member states.
This marks his first official overseas visit since assuming the position of Russia's Prosecutor General. Upon arrival at Dushanbe airport, he was welcomed by Tajikistan's Prosecutor General Habibullo Vohidzoda and Russia's Ambassador to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoryev.
According to the Russian Prosecutor General's press service, Gutsan will chair the coordination council meeting and deliver a report on Russia's experience in combating cybercrime. During his visit to Dushanbe, he is also scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with counterparts from other CIS countries.
Established in 1995 and granted CIS intergovernmental body status in 2000, the Coordinating Council focuses on facilitating cooperation among CIS prosecutors' offices in combating crime, addressing legal violations, protecting citizens' rights, and coordinating anti-crime efforts within CIS intergovernmental bodies. The council holds annual meetings attended by heads of prosecutor services.
