One Russian serviceman was killed and three others were hospitalized as a result of an armored car explosion in the Syrian province of Al-Hasakeh, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
"On June 9, while checking the route of the Russian military police patrol in the Al-Hasakeh province of the Syrian Arab Republic, an armored vehicle was blown up by an unidentified explosive device. As a result of the explosion, one Russian serviceman died of his injuries. Three Russian soldiers who accompanied him in the car were taken to a medical center, where they were given necessary medical treatment," the statement says.
The ministry stressed that the lives of the victims were not in danger.
"The Russian Defense Ministry will provide the family of the dead serviceman with all necessary assistance and support," the ministry said.
