07 July 2023

Companies from Southeast Asia are showing interest in cooperating with Russian businesses, says Russian trade representative to Indonesia, Alexander Svininin. During a business mission involving Moscow companies in Jakarta from July 4-6, Svininin noted the high interest of Southeast Asian companies in collaborating with Russian businesses. The Moscow Export Center's business mission marks the third visit of Moscow companies to Indonesia this year.

Over the course of three days, more than 90 B2B meetings were conducted with 70 potential partners. IT solutions from Moscow-based companies T8, Ot-Oil and TrafficData received considerable interest from the Indonesian side. Preliminary agreements have been made for trial supplies of the  "Zion" plant nutrient additive to Indonesia for initial testing.

The business mission included 18 Moscow-based companies, as reported by the Indigonews news portal on July 5. The Indonesian side has expressed interest in cooperation with Russian partners in various sectors, including information technology development, food and medicine production, and telecommunications equipment creation.

Russian Ambassador Lyudmila Vorobieva had previously stated at a press conference in Jakarta on May 17 that experts believe the Eurasian Economic Union and Indonesian authorities may conclude a free trade agreement within two years.
