Rustam Minnikhanov Discusses Strengthening Cooperation with Egyptian Delegation

Rustam Minnikhanov, the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, met today with a delegation from the Arab Republic of Egypt at the Government House in Kazan.

 

The Egyptian officials are currently visiting the region to gain a firsthand look at Tatarstan’s economic and industrial landscape. During their stay, the delegation toured several major industrial sites to assess the republic's economic potential and innovative capacity.

 

In his meeting with the delegation, Rustam Minnikhanov focused on expanding bilateral ties. Specifically, Tatarstan is looking to boost export volumes to Egypt, offering a diverse range of industrial goods, with a particular emphasis on mechanical engineering and heavy machinery.

 

The rais noted with satisfaction that trade turnover between Tatarstan and Egypt saw an upward trend throughout 2024.

 

He also highlighted the significant work being carried out through the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia – Islamic World", an organization he leads under the mandate of the Russian federal leadership.

 

A key point of the discussion centered on Kazan's role as a global hub for international events. With Kazan designated as the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World for 2026, Minnikhanov noted that a comprehensive program of events has been prepared. He extended a formal invitation to the Egyptian representatives to participate in these upcoming celebrations.

 

Concluding the meeting, Minnikhanov reaffirmed his commitment to deepening the partnership between Tatarstan and Egypt, viewing it as a vital contribution to the broader friendly relations between the Russian Federation and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
