Rustam Minnikhanov Meets with King of Bahrain

23 May

Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov convened a meeting with the King of Bahrain during the latter's visit to Moscow. Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in Russia today at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin.

In his address, Minnikhanov underscored the significant importance of the Russian Federation's cooperation with Bahrain, considering the Kingdom as a pivotal partner in trade, economics, and investments within the Middle East region.

"We greatly value our interaction with Bahrain. Our country views the Kingdom as a vital trade, economic, and investment partner in the Middle East region," Minnikhanov remarked warmly.

Expressing appreciation for the Bahraini delegation's active participation in the recent KazanForum, Minnikhanov specifically acknowledged the contributions of Sheikh Hamad bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, a distinguished member of the Royal Family.

"A dear friend of Tatarstan, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Bahrain, and a member of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia-Islamic World", has made invaluable contributions to its initiatives," Minnikhanov emphasized.

Reflecting on recent bilateral visits, both leaders noted a remarkable 30-fold increase in trade turnover last year, amounting to $450,000. However, they concurred that this figure represents only a fraction of the potential trade volume, considering the extensive array of products that could be supplied to Bahrain. Hence, Minnikhanov extended a warm invitation for Bahraini companies to engage in investment projects in Tatarstan.

In response, the King of Bahrain expressed his delight at being in Russia at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin and conveyed his eagerness to explore Kazan during his next visit.
