Ryabkov: Russia in Contacts with Iran Following Israeli Attack on Iranian Consulate

11 April

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has confirmed that Russia is in continuous communication with Iranian counterparts regarding the situation in the Middle East, following the Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria.

"We are in constant contact with Iran, and new, in-depth discussions on the entire spectrum of issues related to the Middle East are also forthcoming in the near future through the BRICS line. We condemn this act on the part of Israel," Ryabkov stated in response to a question from TASS.

Ryabkov further expressed the view that Moscow believes that "collusion with Israeli actions in the Middle East, which are at the heart of Washington's policy, is in many ways becoming the root cause of more and more tragedies."
