Saudi-Led Coalition Strikes UAE Ships Carrying Military Cargo

30 December 2025

The Saudi-led coalition carried out an airstrike on two vessels from the United Arab Emirates to the Yemeni port of Al Mukalla without official authorization, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

“Coalition forces conducted a limited military operation this morning targeting weapons and military equipment unloaded from two vessels,” SPA quoted coalition spokesperson Turki al-Maliki as saying.

According to al-Maliki, the crews of the two ships had switched off their tracking systems and offloaded large quantities of weapons and military hardware intended to support the Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces in the Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra provinces, “with the aim of fueling conflict.”

The coalition had earlier announced the launch of a military operation in Yemen’s Hadhramaut region following the STC’s seizure of the port of Al Mukalla.
