Russian citizens in Senegal have not applied to the Russian embassy for help in connection with the situation in the country. The Russian diplomatic mission in Senegal told TASS on Monday.
"Russian citizens have been informed (of the situation in the country - TASS), they have not applied for help," the embassy noted.
The agency's interlocutor, responding to a question about whether security measures at the diplomatic mission have been strengthened, pointed out that Russian diplomats in Senegal are safe, the security of the Russian embassy has been strengthened amid the protests. "The situation in Dakar is completely different, the security is ensured. Everything is fine around the embassy, it is in the center of the city, next to the interior ministry. All embassy employees are safe in this regard," they pointed out.
The diplomatic mission also added that the situation in the country remains unchanged "since the opposition activist was detained and sentenced." "The bottom line is that citizens, unfortunately, do not express an opinion, but rather grab Molotov cocktails and edged weapons to express their protest. In this regard, law enforcement forces were deployed to restore peace and ensure security," the TASS interlocutor concluded.
