During a meeting with Tatarstan's Rais Rustam Minnikhanov, Senegalese President Macky Sall expressed the intention to enhance cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan. President Sall's visit to Tatarstan is part of his working trip to Russia for the second Russia-Africa summit.
President Sall highlighted the significant potential for collaboration between Senegal and Tatarstan, specifically in agriculture, livestock, energy, petrochemicals, education, sports and tourism. Notably, Senegal expressed a substantial demand for cooperation with Kamaz PJSC, indicating strong interest in partnership with the renowned Russian truck manufacturer.
In response, Minnikhanov stressed the importance of the visit, emphasizing Tatarstan's position as an export-oriented region with robust industrial capabilities, ready to provide a wide range of products for export and import. He also highlighted the opportunities for fostering humanitarian ties in education, culture, tourism and sports.
Minnikhanov reminded President Sall that Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, has hosted various international events, including the upcoming Kazan Digital Week - 2023 international forum and the Games of the Future in 2024, along with a meeting of the BRICS heads of state. He expressed confidence that the Senegalese delegation would find these events of great interest.
