Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu has characterized the joint US and Israeli military operation against Iran as an unprecedented disregard for international law.
"We are dealing with a completely unprecedented disregard for all international law — law that was written based on the lessons of both the First and Second World Wars, leading from the League of Nations to the creation of the United Nations," Shoigu stated. He noted that, in his view, the United Nations no longer possesses the influential voice it held even 15 to 20 years ago.
