Sultan of Oman Discusses Defense and Security with Soigu

Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said met with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu at the Al Baraka Palace near Muscat to discuss bilateral cooperation in defense and security matters, according to a statement from the Omani ruler's office.

 

The meeting addressed various aspects of defense and security cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Russian Federation, along with joint efforts to maintain regional security and stability, the Oman News Agency reported.

 

Shoigu noted that the Russian delegation's visit covered a wide range of bilateral issues, including cooperation in financial, space, nuclear, and military sectors.

 

The Russian Security Council secretary arrived in Oman on November 11 leading an interagency delegation. The visit included the second session of the Russia-Oman Strategic Dialogue on Wednesday, where Shoigu observed that bilateral relations show resilience and positive momentum. The Russian delegation's tour previously included stops in Cairo, where Shoigu met with senior Egyptian officials, including President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
