Syria and Russia plan to commemorate the 80th anniversary of their diplomatic relations with numerous events in both countries. Bashar Jaafari, the Syrian ambassador to Moscow, shared this information on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
When asked if the Syrian Foreign Minister would visit Russia for the anniversary, Jaafari responded, “We don't know yet. But there will be many events to celebrate this anniversary, both in Syria and in Russia. There will be several diplomatic events.”
Diplomatic relations between Syria and Russia were established on July 21, 1944.
