Tajikistan and the Maldives have signed an intergovernmental agreement to waive visa requirements for their citizens. The agreement was signed by Tajikistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Jonibek Hikmat, and his Maldivian counterpart, Ali Naseer Mohamed.
“Under the signed agreement, citizens of both countries are exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit, transit, and short-term stays in the territory of the other party, provided the duration does not exceed 30 days,” the Tajik Foreign Ministry announced on its website.
The agreement is set to remain in effect indefinitely. It will come into force 30 days after both parties exchange final written notifications through diplomatic channels confirming the completion of their respective domestic procedures.
