In Africa, 5,255 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered. This is stated in the report of the African Union.
The virus, as noted, was found in 49 African countries out of 55 members of the organization. As a result of the disease, 173 people died and 371 cured.
The largest number of diseases was recorded in the countries of North Africa-Egypt and Algeria - 656 and 582 cases, accordingly.
In the world, according to the latest data, more than 690 thousand cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded, more than 33 thousand people died.
