The Middle East region accounts for approximately 30% of the order portfolio of Rosoboronexport (a subsidiary of Rostec State Corporation), Alexander Mikheev, the company's general director, told TASS during the Dubai Airshow 2021.
"The share of Middle Eastern countries accounts for about 30% of Rosoboronexport's total order portfolio, which currently exceeds $52 billion," he said.
According to him, Rosoboronexport coped with the difficulties caused by the pandemic of a new type of coronavirus (COVID-19). "Regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, of course, there were difficulties in the negotiation processes last year because of global constraints, but we coped with them quite promptly through our joint efforts. According to our estimates, the Middle East has suffered relatively small economic losses thanks to timely measures taken by the authorities in the region," Mikheev added.
Dubai Airshow is one of the largest international aerospace shows and is held in the UAE once every two years. Russia has taken part in it since 1993.
