The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Africa has exceeded 75 thousand

More than 75 thousand people in Africa have infected by a new type of coronavirus.  The number of victims exceeds 2.5 thousand, the report of the regional office of the World Health Organization (who) reads.


The total number of cases of COVID-19 infection on the African continent, according to the WHO, reached 75,498, and 2,561 patients died. The number of cured patients exceeds 27 thousand people.


The highest number of infections were detected in South Africa (12,379), Egypt (10,829), Morocco (6,593), Algeria (6,442), Ghana (5,530) and Nigeria (5,162).


The largest number of deaths was registered in Egypt (571) and Algeria (529).
