After the IX International Conference of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia - Islamic World”, Assistant Secretary General of the World Muslim Communities Council (UAE) Hasan al-Marzouqi shared his opinion on the nature of the relationship between the parties and the presented event, in particular. The conference on the topic “Russia - Islamic World: Fair Multipolar World Order and Secure Development” was held on May 16, 2024, in Kazan.

“Relations between Russia and the Arab and Islamic world are a multifaceted and diverse interaction that has been going on for more than a hundred years, especially thanks to the common history that connects the regions of Russia with the Arab and Islamic world”, - said the Assistant Secretary General of the World Muslim Communities Council. Mr. al-Marzouqi said that in 2022 he witnessed the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria, which took place in the ancient city of Bolgar in the Republic of Tatarstan.

Al-Marzouqi shared that in addition to participating in the Group’s conference, the delegation from the World Muslim Communities Council also plans to attend the economic summit “KazanForum 2024”, held under the auspices of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chairman of the GSV Rustam Minnikhanov.

“Today we are seeing at this international economic forum the implementation of many initiatives that were once only the vision of a specific strategy. There is also a significant increase in the volume of trade and economic turnover between Russia and the Arab and Islamic world”, - noted Mr. al- Marzouqi. He expressed hope for an end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and a strong determination to support the Palestinian people in accordance with international law.

“At the conference, the Islamic world received very significant support for the formation of a Palestinian state. All participants highly appreciated the decision of the United Nations to grant Palestine the right to form its own state and full membership in the UN”, - said Mr. al-Marzouqi.

It is important to note that the Secretary General of the World Muslim Communities Council Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, during his speech at the conference, stated the responsibility of participants to evaluate the importance of such meetings. The formation of a multipolar, fair and secure world order requires not only loud statements, but also specific initiatives. The Secretary General emphasized that economic partnership plays an important role in strengthening cooperation between the parties in various fields. Exactly in this direction the Group of Strategic Vision and the current international economic forum operate.

Mr. Nuaimi also noted that modern crises are different from past ones. In this regard, it is important to change the traditional attitude towards pressing issues of our time. One of these is the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which requires the transformation of statements and declarations into real steps to support the Palestinian people.
