Third Group of Russian Citizens Evacuated from Gaza Strip via Rafah Crossing

A third group of 40 Russians has crossed the Rafah checkpoint, according to Roman Okhotenko, the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry's press service.

 

"Today (Tuesday), a group of 40 Russian citizens and their family members crossed the Rafah checkpoint," he stated.

 

 

Evacuation from the Gaza Strip of Russian citizens in the midst of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is being coordinated by the Russian Emergencies Ministry in collaboration with diplomats. The initial group of 70 Russian citizens crossed the Rafah checkpoint into Egypt on November 12. According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, over 1,000 people, including Russian citizens, compatriots, and 300 minors, have registered for evacuation from the Gaza Strip. Recently, the second group of 98 Russian citizens evacuated from the Gaza Strip arrived at Domodedovo airport aboard the Russian Emergencies Ministry's Il-76 airplane.
