On Friday at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan said globalization has been replaced by an era of regionalization.
"Our meeting is taking place in a special situation of increased political and economic turbulence. Global upheavals associated with the pandemic and increasing geopolitical tensions have led to a new reality. Globalization has been replaced by the era of regionalization with all its virtues and inherent flaws," Tokayev said.
