Trump Advisor: US Military Should Not Be in Syria

23 December

Future National Security Advisor to President-elect Donald Trump, Mike Waltz, stated on Sunday that US troops should not be present in Syria.

“[President-elect] Trump is absolutely right. His mandate, which received overwhelming support, was clear: 'Don't drag us into Middle Eastern wars.' We do not want American forces operating in Syria in any capacity, form, or manner,” Waltz said in an interview with journalist Ben Shapiro.

Currently, US forces are stationed in eastern and northeastern Syria, primarily at bases near oil fields.
