Trump Considering Entry Ban for Citizens of Pakistan and Afghanistan

07 March

The Trump administration is reportedly looking into banning citizens of Pakistan and Afghanistan from entering the United States, according to sources cited by Reuters.

The potential ban, which could be announced as soon as next week, is said to be part of a broader effort to tighten US border security. Officials conducted a security review and identified several countries they see as posing heightened risks, with Pakistan and Afghanistan high on the list.

While no final decision has been made, insiders say the list may also include other nations, though they declined to specify which ones.

Earlier, The New York Times reported that the White House is considering reinstating and expanding travel restrictions similar to those introduced during Trump’s first term. Countries already under those restrictions included Venezuela, Iran, Yemen, North Korea, Cuba, Libya, Syria, Somalia, and Sudan. Afghanistan is also reportedly being considered for inclusion on the expanded list of countries whose citizens could face an outright ban on entering the US.
