Trump to Visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE

01 April

US President Donald Trump has announced his intention to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates in April or "a little later." He also mentioned that after his Middle East trip, he plans to visit "other places" but did not specify which countries.

"I have a very good relationship with the Middle East. [...] It [trip] could be next month [April], maybe a little later," Trump told reporters at the White House when asked to comment on a report by Axios. The report suggested that Trump was planning a visit to Saudi Arabia.

"And we’re going to Qatar, also, and also we're going to possibly a couple of other countries. The UAE is very important. [...] So we’ll probably stop at the UAE, Qatar [...] and Saudi Arabia—those three. And then we’ll visit other places as well, but those three will be the stops in the Middle East," the US president stated.

On March 30, Axios, citing sources, reported that Trump was planning a visit to Saudi Arabia in mid-May. The trip would mark his first overseas visit since taking office in January.
