After the IX International Conference of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia - Islamic World”, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Tunisian Republic to the Russian Federation Tarak Ben Salem shared his opinion. He said about the event and the economic summit “KazanForum 2024” within the framework of which on May 16, 2024, was held a conference on the topic “Russia - Islamic World: Fair Multipolar World Order and Secure Development”.
“This is a very good opportunity for us to meet with people from the Muslim republics of Russia, as well as with representatives of Islamic organizations. Also, this is an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between our country and Tatarstan”, - noted Tarak Ben Salem. The Ambassador thanked Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chairman of the GSV Rustam Minnikhanov, as well as everyone who participated in the preparation of the summit. According to Mr. Ben Salem, the event was held at a high level and in a comfortable environment, because Tatarstan people are very kind and hospitable.
“Tunisia certainly considers the Russian Federation as a partner and continues cooperation with Russia without any problems”, - the ambassador assured, recalling the participation of Tunisian representatives in the Russia-Africa summit, held on July 27-28, 2023 in St. Petersburg.
Tarak Ben Salem also mentioned the visit of Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammara to Russia on September 23, 2023. The Ambassador noted the productive meeting of Mr. Ammar with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. The key topic of the negotiations was the supply of grain. In turn, Sergey Lavrov visited Tunisia on December 20, 2023, where agreements were reached on even more active interaction between states in all areas.
“Russia is our constant partner, and a good partner”, - the Tunisian ambassador emphasized.
