Turkmenistan intends to increase economic cooperation with the Persian Gulf countries

The  authorities of Turkmenistan intend to intensify cooperation with the Persian Gulf countries in the sphere of transport, logistics, fuel and energy complex. This was reported by the Neytralny Turkmenistan newspaper on Tuesday, following a meeting between Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), and the Turkmen authorities.

 

The participants of the meeting discussed the prospects of development of relations between Turkmenistan and the GCC. They noted the importance of enhancing cooperation in transport and logistics, as well as intensifying cooperation in the energy sector, further increasing the range of goods and services and increasing the volume of mutual trade turnover.


Following the meeting, the sides signed a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the General Secretariat of the Council on the consultation mechanism.

 

The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf includes Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
