Uzbekistan Advocates for Stronger Interregional Ties with Russia

Laziz Kudratov, Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, has called for continued active development of interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, the press service of Russia's trade mission in Uzbekistan announced.



Speaking at the First Caucasus Investment Forum during the plenary session "The Greater Caucasus: From Sea to Sea," Kudratov emphasized the crucial role of interregional cooperation in achieving the ambitious goal of increasing bilateral trade turnover to $30 billion.



The minister highlighted "the need to leverage the opportunities provided by the Council of Regions, chaired by the presidents of both countries, and to implement comprehensive measures for the further development of this institution."



Kudratov outlined several priority areas for partnership development, such as creation of new joint industrial zones, expansion of joint financing tools, tourism development, enhanced cooperation in agriculture and strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.
