Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov emphasized that the country’s collaboration with Russia thrives on comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, a relationship significantly fostered by the political will and mutual trust between the leaders of both nations. Aripov shared this sentiment during a meeting in Tashkent with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
“This progress owes much to the strong political will and the trust shared by our presidents, the esteemed Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin. The state visit by the Russian president to Uzbekistan from May 26–28, 2024, and the resulting agreements have marked a new phase in our multifaceted cooperation. Under the direct guidance of our esteemed leaders, Tashkent hosted the inaugural meeting of the Uzbekistan-Russia Regional Council, attended by a large delegation from 26 Russian regions, with 22 regions represented by their governors,” Aripov noted, according to the Russian Deputy Prime Minister’s office.
During the discussions, which also included Russian Minister for Far Eastern and Arctic Development Alexey Chekunkov, both sides addressed pressing issues in their cooperative agenda.
