Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko will visit Turkey on February 26–27, leading a delegation from the upper house of the Russian Parliament, according to a statement from the Federation Council's press service.
“The visit's program includes meetings with the country's leadership and Turkish parliamentarians. Talks are scheduled with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT), Numan Kurtulmus,” the statement said.
Additionally, Russian senators are expected to attend a plenary session of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
The delegation includes:
Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council
Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs
Nadezhda Ilyina, Member of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Government, and Affairs of the North, and a member of the cooperation group with the GNAT.
