Volodin Holds Talks with Kyrgyz Parliamentary Speaker

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin spoke by phone with Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh (Supreme Council) of Kyrgyzstan, according to the Duma’s official website.

 

“State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin held a telephone conversation with Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu. Volodin congratulated him on his decisive election win and his election as speaker of the Kyrgyz parliament,” the statement read.

 

Volodin emphasized that constructive dialogue between Russian and Kyrgyz lawmakers is a key element in strengthening mutual understanding between the two nations.

 

During the conversation, the parties also discussed ways to further develop interparliamentary cooperation and reviewed the outcomes of the recent session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Parliamentary Assembly held in Moscow.
