23 December

Yemen’s internationally recognized government and the Houthi movement “Ansar Allah” have reached an agreement to exchange nearly 3,000 detainees, Saudi television channel Al Hadath reported, citing sources familiar with the negotiations.

The deal was finalized in Muscat, Oman, with mediation from the United Nations and Omani authorities. It calls for the Yemeni government to release 1,700 Houthi supporters, while the Houthis will transfer 1,200 individuals to government custody.
