A BRICS+ counter-terrorism conference will take place in Moscow on December 3-4, where participants will discuss strategies for combating terrorism, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced at a briefing.

"On December 3-4, the BRICS+ 2025 Counter-Terrorism Conference, titled 'National and Regional Counter-Terrorism Strategies in the Face of Emerging Security Challenges and Threats,' will be held in Moscow under the auspices of the Russian Foreign Ministry," Zakharova stated. "The conference will bring together representatives from relevant government agencies, civil society, and academic circles of the BRICS+ nations who are engaged in the comprehensive study of counter-terrorism and counter-extremism."

The diplomat noted that experts from the UN, CIS, SCO, and CSTO will also join the discussions.

"Participants will discuss issues related to countering the financing of terrorism, the use of modern information and communication technologies for illicit purposes, the fight against extremism, and attempts to radicalize populations," Zakharova continued.

Delegates will also focus specifically on various theoretical and methodological aspects of eradicating terrorism, exchange assessments of security threats at the national, regional, and global levels amid current geopolitical realities, and share experiences and best practices in the field of counter-terrorism, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added.
