The scale of destruction in the Gaza Strip is catastrophic, with 85% of the enclave's infrastructure completely destroyed. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas provided these figures during his meeting at the Kremlin with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The destruction in Gaza is catastrophic; 85% of its infrastructure has been destroyed— there are no schools, universities, or hospitals left," Abbas noted during the meeting, which was broadcast by Rossiya-24. "Nevertheless, I want to emphasize that the Palestinian people oppose any attempts at forced displacement. We are holding onto our land and will not leave it, regardless of the price we must pay."
Abbas further stated that Palestinians in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank have "suffered severely over the years of Israeli occupation."
