Iranian civil society has resolutely rejected the "coerced changes" being imposed on the country by Western powers, according to Iran's Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, in an analytical op-ed prepared for TASS.
Jalali argued that foreign intervention aimed at "maintaining or imposing forced political outcomes" is a modern echo of the colonial policies of previous centuries.
"The presence of millions of Iranians at the marches on January 12, 2026, serves as a testament to the firm rejection by Iranian civil society of the 'reactionary' forces and the 'reactionary coalition of unilateralists,'" Jalali stated.
The ambassador emphasized that Iran’s fundamental strength lies in its "reliance on a society shaped by a long-standing process of 'culture,' 'intellect,' and 'self-confidence.'"
"This deeply rooted historical identity will not tolerate the political prescriptions of the international oligarchy of power and terror," Jalali concluded.
