Taalatbek Masadykov, the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), has called for more intensive efforts to engage with the youth to preserve the memory of those who fought against Nazism.
"I believe we need to exert even greater effort to ensure that the youth and future generations do not forget the deeds of our fathers and grandfathers," Masadykov told reporters. "I think this should be integrated into school curricula and higher education programs; it should be present everywhere in libraries. Parents must also take an active role in raising their children by sharing the stories of our people's heroism. This will serve to strengthen and unite our nations."
Responding to a question from TASS, the secretary general noted that there are currently persistent attempts worldwide to distort the history of World War II and the Great Patriotic War. "In such a situation, it is essential to approach and defend that truth using reliable facts and documentary evidence," Masadykov emphasized.
