Foreign ministers from the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have issued a strong condemnation of recent military strikes carried out by Israel and the United States against Iran, warning that such actions risk escalating tensions and destabilizing the entire Middle East.
“We, the foreign ministers of the CSTO member states, express grave concern over the dangerous escalation in the Middle East,” the ministers said in a joint statement. “We strongly condemn the use of force against the Islamic Republic of Iran, carried out in violation of the United Nations Charter and international law. We offer our sincere condolences to all those affected and mourn the victims of the mutual strikes.”
The statement emphasized that any attack on civilian infrastructure, particularly nuclear energy facilities, is “categorically unacceptable” and constitutes a flagrant breach of international legal norms.
“These acts pose serious risks of further destabilization in the region and could have devastating consequences for global peace and security,” the ministers warned.
They also noted that such military actions undermine long-standing efforts to establish a zone free of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East—a goal long supported by both regional and international actors.
The CSTO foreign ministers called for a halt to any further attacks on Iranian nuclear sites, which remain under the safeguards and inspection regime of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
“We call for the abandonment of force-based approaches and urge all parties to refrain from any further attacks on nuclear facilities and installations under IAEA safeguards,” the statement read.
