16 September 2021

Leaders of the Collective Security treaty organization (CSTO) have approved a plan to equip the Collective security forces with modern weapons, according to a report published following the meeting on the CSTO official website.

"The heads of state also approved the plan to equip the Collective rapid reaction force [RRF] of the CSTO with modern weapons, military and special equipment and special means. It is a very important and timely document, the implementation of which will make it possible to bring our RRFs to a new quality level," the document says.

It is stated that due to the tense situation on the Tajik-Afghan border the operational deployment plan of the CSTO Collective forces in the Central Asian region has been specified, as well as the composition of military contingents and special forces of the CSTO.

CSTO leaders also signed an agreement on joint logistical and medical support for Collective Security treaty organization troops (Collective forces).
