The date of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey has not yet been determined, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"No, the date of the visit has not been determined, it is being agreed through diplomatic channels," he said.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on January 26 that he had invited Putin to visit the republic. He also expressed his desire to organize a meeting between Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky so that they could "continue the path to restoring an atmosphere of peace." On Wednesday, February 16, Erdogan said he wanted to have a telephone conversation with Putin to find out his attitude toward the idea of holding a trilateral meeting between the presidents of Russia, Ukraine and Turkey in the republic.
On February 8, the press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, said that there was an agreement between Moscow and Ankara on the Russian president's visit, but that specific dates had not yet been confirmed. According to him, the visit will take place when the schedules of the presidents and epidemiological conditions allow. Earlier, Peskov said that the two leaders had discussed possible options in late February and also discussed other dates. At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman noted that the possibility of a meeting between Putin and Zelensky in Turkey is not yet discussed in practical terms.
