Russian president's special representative for the Middle East and African countries and deputy foreign minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Lebanese ambassador to Moscow Chawki Bou Nassar discussed the working visit of Lebanese foreign minister Abdallah Bou Habib to the Russian capital before the end of November.
"The parties also expressed support for the activities of the Lebanese government, headed by prime minister Najib Mikati, aimed at overcoming the crisis in the economy and social sphere and solving other acute issues of the national agenda. In this context they touched upon substantive and organizational issues of the working visit of Lebanese foreign minister Abdallah Bou Habib to Moscow by the end of November this year," the Russian MFA said in a statement.
Smolensk Square pointed out that during the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the worrying developments in and around the situation in Lebanon. "The Russian side reiterated its unwavering commitment to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the friendly Lebanese Republic," the diplomatic office added.
The meeting was held at the request of a Lebanese diplomat.
