Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen discussed the work of the Constitutional Committee and assistance in the return of Syrian refugees.
"During the conversation, the parties had an in-depth exchange of views on the development of the situation in the SAR and around it," the Russian Foreign Ministry said. - "Special attention was paid to the problem of resolving the Syrian crisis on the basis of UNSC Resolution 2254, including the work of the Inter-Syrian Constitutional Committee in Geneva. At the same time, they noted the importance of mobilizing international efforts to facilitate the return of Syrian refugees to their homes, including taking into account the results of the International Conference on this topic held in Damascus on November 11-12".
Pedersen is in Moscow on a working visit. On Thursday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Syria.
