Emirati-Russian Ramadan Evening Held in Moscow

27 February

The UAE Embassy in Russia hosted an Emirati-Russian Ramadan evening in the capital, an event that brought together dozens of distinguished guests. Attendees included Talgat Tadzhuddin, Supreme Mufti of Russia and Chairman of the Central Religious Board of Muslims (CRBM); Mufti Ravil Gaynutdin, Chairman of the Religious Boards of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM RF); Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko; UAE Ambassador to Moscow Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber; and several ambassadors from the Middle East.

"On behalf of the 25-million-strong Muslim Ummah of the Russian Federation and on my own behalf, I cordially congratulate all of you, as well as the leadership and brotherly people of the United Arab Emirates, on the blessed month of Ramadan — a time of mercy, spiritual purification, and the strengthening of brotherhood between nations," Mufti Ravil Gaynutdin remarked.

He particularly emphasized the value of the United Arab Emirates' commitment to peacemaking and its responsible role as a mediator in seeking conflict resolution and stabilizing situations in various regions. "We express our special gratitude for the Emirates' invaluable contribution to the exchange of prisoners and the reunification of families separated by the Ukrainian conflict," the RBM RF chairman added.

According to Mufti Ravil Gaynutdin, the UAE is rightfully considered one of the global leaders in promoting the principles of tolerance and interreligious and interethnic harmony. "These principles are also close to Russia — a country with a centuries-old history of peaceful coexistence between peoples and religions, where Islam is an integral part of our nation's spiritual and cultural heritage," he noted.
