Former Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Ezzat Saad highly appreciated the activities of the Group of Strategic Vision (GSV, Group) during his participation in the XVI International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2025" and the GSV meetings held within the framework of the forum. Topic of discussion: “The experience of Russia and the Islamic world in the field of youth policy”.
First of all, the diplomat expressed gratitude to the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chairman of the GSV Rustam Minnikhanov “for his support of this Group and strengthening its activities over many years,” as well as to his team, “which is making huge and important efforts.”
"The choice of this theme turned out to be extremely successful and significant, becaus young people today make up a significant part of both Russian society and the peoples of the Islamic world as a whole. On this basis, we build our political approaches and discussions this year, relying on the rich experience of Russia and many countries of the Islamic world," noted Mr. Saad.
The diplomat stressed that Egypt and Russia are developing large-scale and fruitful cooperation in the field of youth exchange, launched in 2021, when the leaders of both countries declared it the Year of Humanitarian Exchange. The Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of Russia (Rosmolodezh) is making great efforts in this direction, and Egyptian youth always actively participate in forums held both in Russia and Egypt.
"We remember that in 2024, the World Youth Forum was held in Sochi under the patronage and with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, with delegates from 167 countries. Within the framework of this forum, many important issues concerning youth were discussed: volunteering, entrepreneurship, education, technology, professional training and much more," Mr. Saad recalled.
The diplomat also shared his expectations for activity within the BRICS Youth Council, established in 2024.
“Egypt is preparing with great enthusiasm to host this youth forum in the second half of 2025 in Cairo, in which young people from Russia will also participate. This event will aim to introduce the goals of the BRICS group and ways to involve young people in achieving them,” said Mr. Saad.
