Foreign Ministry: Russia’s Position on Palestinian Statehood Remains Unchanged

26 February

Russia has not altered its stance regarding the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with its capital in East Jerusalem, according to Kirill Logvinov, the Director of the International Organizations Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"Within the broader context of the Palestinian-Israeli settlement, we reaffirm our commitment to the universally recognized international legal framework. This is centered on the two-state formula, which envisions the creation of an independent State of Palestine within the 1967 borders with its capital in East Jerusalem, coexisting in peace and security with Israel," Logvinov emphasized in an interview with TASS.

Moscow also highlighted the "constancy and consistency of Russian approaches regarding Gaza."

"Мы advocate for an actual ceasefire and the establishment of comprehensive humanitarian assistance, and we welcome the release of both Israeli and Palestinian captives," the diplomat stated.
