The heads of defense ministries of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden in Moscow, Russian Defense Minister spokeswoman Rossiyana Markovskaya told reporters Friday.
"Participants in the ceremony honored the memory of soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War with a moment of silence. The ceremony ended with a solemn march by the honor guard company," the military department said.
The defense ministries of the nine countries have arrived in Moscow to take part in a meeting of defense ministries of the SCO member states and the CIS member states. The meeting will discuss international and regional security issues.
