Indonesia Agrees to Establish Russian Consulate General in Bali

Indonesia has given preliminary approval to establish a Russian consulate general on the island of Bali, as reported to a TASS correspondent at the Russian Embassy in Jakarta.

 

The diplomatic mission confirmed, "An in-principle agreement has been obtained from the Indonesian side. The technical aspects are currently being worked out."

 

Currently, the only Russian representation in Bali is an honorary consulate.

 

The number of Russian tourists visiting Indonesia in  2023 has reached approximately  155,000, which represents a more than  20% increase compared to the  2019 figures of  125,000 before the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
