Indonesia will send 800 tons of humanitarian aid to support the Palestinian people amid a severe humanitarian crisis, the Chairman of the Indonesian National Alms Agency, Noor Achmad, announced.
“We have prepared 800 tons of aid that will be airdropped by the Indonesian National Armed Forces in cooperation with the air forces of Jordan and Egypt,” he said, as quoted by the Antara news agency.
According to Achmad, the first 80 tons of aid will be delivered to the people of Palestine on August 17, and the rest will be delivered in stages afterward.
On August 7, presidential spokesman Hasan Nasbi said Indonesia stands ready to send peacekeepers and deliver humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip. He noted that President Prabowo Subianto had instructed the Ministry of Defense to prepare two Hercules transport aircraft for the aid mission.
