Iran is ready to strengthen its relations with Qatar and appreciates Doha’s mediation efforts aimed at reducing regional escalation. This was stated by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi during a phone call with Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohamed Al-Khulaifi.
“Highlighting the friendly and strong ties between Iran and Qatar, Takht-Ravanchi confirmed Iran’s commitment to continuing and enhancing bilateral relations based on the principles of good neighborliness and mutual interests,” said a statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, quoted by the Islamic Republic's state broadcaster.
Takht-Ravanchi praised Qatar’s role in “preventing further escalation in the region.”
He also emphasized that Iran would not allow hostile actions by Israel and the United States to create divisions between Iran and other countries in the region. In response, Al-Khulaifi pointed to the “special relationship” between Doha and Tehran and called for joint efforts by all regional countries to ensure security and stability.
