The Iranian army has vowed a harsh and decisive response to any attack on its territory by the United States or Israel, as stated in an official military declaration.
This warning follows remarks by US President Donald Trump, who threatened "unprecedented bombings" on Iran if the two countries fail to reach an agreement.
"If our enemies (the US or Israel) make a strategic mistake and attack Iranian territory, they will receive a severe and regrettable response," Iran's military statement, published by state news agency IRNA, reads.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian recently confirmed that Tehran rejected direct nuclear talks with Washington, leaving negotiations open only through third-party mediation.
Trump previously stated he would prefer to reach a diplomatic agreement with Iran but did not rule out military options. In March, Axios reported that Trump had set a two-month deadline for a new nuclear deal in a letter addressed to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Despite earlier threats, Trump has repeatedly emphasized his willingness to strike a "verified" nuclear peace agreement that would allow Iran to develop and prosper peacefully.
