Kazem Jalali, the Iranian Ambassador to Moscow, has firmly denied reports claiming that Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is currently in Russia for medical treatment.
"A liar never loses the habit of lying, but as the Iranian proverb goes, a liar also has a short and forgetful memory," the diplomat wrote on X. "Today, the drum of scandal has sounded across Western and Persian-language media. Prior to the day of American and Zionist aggression against Iran, which took place during our most revered holy month, news of martyr Khamenei fleeing to Venezuela or Russia topped the headlines of the 'satanic movement.' Now, these reports of the Supreme Leader being transferred to Russia for treatment are simply a new form of psychological warfare."
Jalali further asserted that Iranian leadership has no reason to go into hiding. "Iranian leaders do not need to flee or hide in shelters; their place is on the streets among the people. The blood of martyr Khamenei exposes the deception of this psychological war and this stream of lies," he concluded.
