The foreign ministries of Iran and Russia have exchanged drafts of a long-term comprehensive cooperation agreement between the two countries, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said at a press conference on Monday.
"There is a program of comprehensive cooperation between Russia and Iran, its initial text has been exchanged by the foreign ministries of the two countries. I believe we will soon move to the final stage in this direction," he said.
The president added that "Iran's cooperation with Russia is strategic." "The development of the North-South corridor, which we are engaged in, remains on the agenda," he added.
On November 16, 2021, Raisi said during a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin that the Iranian side is ready to conclude a long-term agreement with Russia on comprehensive cooperation. The agreement is expected to last for 20 years.
