The presence of US military bases in Middle Eastern countries endangers the security of those very nations, a reality that Tehran has repeatedly warned about, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in a statement aired by SNN.
"Today, it has been proven that the deployment of American troops in the region does not bring security to regional countries. We have warned them of this before," Ghalibaf stated. "We do not intend to attack neighboring countries, but if an enemy from the region attacks us, should we not respond? We must defend ourselves."
